At cafete55 in Chemnitz, in addition to table tennis paddles, you can also borrow other outdoor games, such as badminton, bocce, Kubb, and balance towers. All of the games were purchased by the Chair of Industrial Environmental Economics and Sustainability at Chemnitz University of Technology to enhance the quality of life on the Reichenhainer Straße campus.
The rental process works as follows:
Games are currently checked out and returned during opening hours at the cash registers in the basement of cafete55.
When borrowing, your name, date, student ID or employee number, and any pre-existing damage to the games will be noted. A deposit is required for higher-value games.
Borrowed games should be returned in good condition to the cafeteria cash registers by closing time on the day of checkout, or by 11:00 the following day at the latest. Returns and any minor damage to the equipment are also recorded in writing. In the event of significant damage or loss, compensation will be charged based on the game’s age of use. Further clarification is handled by the cafeteria management.
The games are cleaned and disinfected in the cafeteria after each loan in accordance with current hygiene guidelines.
In the interest of everyone, we ask that the games be treated with care.
