Cultural Funding

The Chemnitz-Zwickau Student Services Organisation provides financial and organisational support to student societies and clubs. We also support sports and cultural groups, as well as one-off cultural or sporting events.

  • All student associations and clubs active at Chemnitz University of Technology, University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau, Plauen Cooperative State University, Breitenbrunn Cooperative State University, and Glauchau Cooperative State University are eligible to apply for cultural funding.

    To apply, we require the completed application form, a brief project description, and a financial plan.

    To assist you with the application process, the Cultural Commission has drawn up guidelines. Please read these carefully and pay particular attention to the deadlines listed.

  • To receive the grant funds, you must provide the bank account details for a student initiative, student association or similar organisation. Funds cannot be transferred to a personal bank account.

    If you encounter any problems, please contact your student council.

  • Applications are checked for compliance upon receipt and discussed at the next meeting of the Cultural Commission. The Cultural Commission usually meets once a month.

  • Immediately after the Cultural Commission meeting, you will receive an email informing you of the decision. You will receive the written (positive) notification within ten working days.

  • Funding may be provided for events

    • that serve a cultural or sporting (recreational) purpose

    • whose total funding is secured

    • that do not pursue commercial objectives and are organised on a non-commercial basis

    • in which all students of Chemnitz University of Technology or the WHZ have the opportunity to participate

    • in which the greatest possible efficiency and economy in the use of funds are ensured

The next meeting of the Cultural Funding Committee will take place on 07.08.2026.

Meetings are held at regular intervals throughout the year (usually once a month).
